Our initiatives to synergize with the society and the people
Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, Century Financial launched the 'Sustainability & U' initiative that calls for real action through collaborations.
Integrating sustainability goals in its growth journey, Century Financial has partnered with noted Government bodies and Global experts across the Middle East to accelerate sustainable leadership, influence, and specific expertise in supporting industry. Gearing up to tackle new-age challenges and scale up actions for a shared future, the organization unveiled new goals to inculcate sustainability in its work culture.
As a significant and progressive step towards Sustainability, Century Financial has acquired Dubai Chamber Sustainability Network – Smart Label. The Smart label paves the way to transitioning into applying for the Dubai Chamber CSR Label – where the Dubai Chamber team conducts an audit and assessment of the Company. It opens avenues for concrete sustainability initiatives aligned with the Company's long-term vision and goals to ensure measurable and meaningful results.
The Company also organizes events to empower young staff and increase their potential to significantly contribute to the nation's sustainable growth and protect public health. The 'Free-Clutter' Friday program encourages community participation in the Emirates Environmental Group-led recycling campaign 'OROC'. Century Financial employees are encouraged to post photos of their recycling efforts as part of this campaign.
The campaign was conceptualized to celebrate the spirit of the nation that embraces expatriates from countries across the globe. It experienced a riot of colors to reveal the participants’ love for their home country and the UAE.
#UAEIsMyHome was rolled out on leading social media platforms in November 2022 and invited participants to paint the flags of their country and the UAE on each side of their faces. With over 1000 enthusiastic entries, it became a sought-after platform to express the participants’ love for both; their country of origin and the UAE.
Century Financial continues its pursuit of complementing the UAE’s vision of a unified nation with initiatives that encourage building a cohesive society. The brand strongly believes in embracing the core values and elements of cultural significance to best engage its audiences with opportunities to express their love for the UAE. As part of the 51st National Day celebrations, employees from Century Financial also planted 100 Ghaf Trees with their name tags to express gratitude and love for the country.
As a responsible corporate citizen Century Financial has been giving back to the society by way of caring and sharing through our annual charity drive and imparting industry education programs to future generations of leading educational institutions in UAE.
Century Financial, launched a unique CSR initiative called “Health, Wealth & Happiness” (HWH) to align with the year of giving in the UAE in 2017.
It is often said, if you have health you would probably be happy, and if you have health and happiness you have all the wealth you need. And the best way to multiply happiness is it to share it with others.
Century’s “Health, Wealth, Happiness” charity drive catered to these three important aspects of life. Under the Health, Wealth, Happiness banner each year Century has been creating a unique charity experience that reaches out to the less privileged sections of the society.
A typical HWH kit consists of:
(a) Health (Health/hygiene related items),
(b) Wealth (Discount vouchers for money transfer charges, to send across their money to their families), and
(c) Happiness (calling cards to call their loved ones back home)
Keeping in mind the current situation due to the pandemic, in 2020 our HWH kit was modified to contain hygiene and protection items like face mask, gloves and sanitizers for the front line workers comprising of Careem food delivery Captains.
A nation that has inspired the world, transformed lives, and provided a vision of leadership and success celebrated its YEAR OF FIFTIETH in 2021! We decided to add to the spirit of the celebrations with our initiative #WhatsUAEforYou where the people of UAE were invited to express their love from the nation and win a Gold Coin. The month-long initiative was launched in a form of a social media contest which ended on the UAE National Day. Top 50 heartfelt messages were declared as the winners of the contest after thorough evaluation of more than 1,000+ entries received by the jury panel.
The top 50 winners were felicitated and rewarded with a gold coin each for sharing their thoughts for the great nation, the UAE. The initiative finally culminated with Ghaf tree (which is the UAE National Tree) plantation activity by all the 50 winners and employees with their names tagged to it.
Overall, it was an enriching experience for all the participants as it gave them an opportunity to contribute towards a greener society during the special year of Fiftieth of the nation.
Contributing towards Breast Cancer Awareness Month that’s observed globally in October; we in association with MOHAP and Al Jalila Foundation initiated seminars to raise awareness that highlighted the importance of early detection.
Early detection and self-examination play a crucial role in detecting breast cancer and through our initiatives we aim to encourage our staff to undergo regular screening and support the global fight against this disease.
As the world unites in efforts to continue raising awareness about Breast Cancer we contributed towards this global awareness drive through a talk series by doctors explaining the importance of early detection through self-examination. We also conducted health checkups for female employees along with informative sessions on the cause, early detection, and care in association with MOHAP (Ministry of Health and Prevention, UAE)
With #SheMatters, we also partnered with Al Jalila Foundation, a global healthcare philanthropic organization that’s dedicated to transforming lives. Having committed a donation of AED 10,000 towards Al Jalila and Brest Friends’ “PINKtober drive”; with such association, we will contribute to fulfilling Jalila Foundation’s goals for breast cancer research and treatment in the UAE.
#Shematters is yet another initiative by Century Financial that has garnered tremendous support from its staff showing commitment by uniting for a noble cause. The campaign was live on social media, and all the events were conducted until the end of October 2021.
To celebrate the spirit of women and grace the occasion of International Women’s Day, Century Financial partnered with Al Noor Rehabilitation and Welfare Association for People of Determination with a charitable donation intended to support the educational cause of women students.
Under this unique initiative, the company contributed to funding part of the educational fee of three 18 years old adult female students belonging to different nationalities, namely, Emirati, Indian and Syrian.
This gesture is our little contribution towards the welfare of women students with special needs, undertaken by Al Noor Rehabilitation & Welfare Association for People of Determination.
To spread the spirit of 49th UAE National Day, Century Financial joined hands with Khaleej Times to launch the campaign titled ‘My Nation My Vision’.
The campaign invited UAE nationals and residents to share the vision for their family, community, nation, world, or the universe on a dedicated microsite. The campaign concluded with the announcement and felicitation of 49 winners who submitted creative visions for the future.
As part of the felicitation ceremony, the winners had the opportunity of planting saplings of the UAE’s national tree, the Ghaf, with their name tag on it. Century team along with the contest winners planted 49 Ghaf trees at International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA), Dubai.
During the activity, the participants also learned the beneficial facts about the drought-tolerant evergreen desert tree, which boosts soil fertility and supports the growth of crop plants under its shade.
This was our little contribution towards celebrating UAE’s heritage and share visions that could shape the future of the nation. The initiative also fueled a greener society and stood for a cause that the brand truly believes in.
